How to setup LAN Settings for Automatic IP & DNS Address

Step 1:

In Windows XP:

a) Click the ‘Start’ Button

b) Click ‘Connect To’

c) Click ‘Show all Connections’

Now you should see a screen like below:

Step 2:

Double click your ‘Local Area Connection’

You should now see a screen as below:

Step 3:

Click ‘Properties’. You should see a screen as below.

Step 4:

Now double click ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’ and ‘Obtain DNS server address automatically’

Step 5:

Click OK (as many as required).

Step 6:

Restart Windows.
